Neither my husband nor I strictly identify ourselves as Christians.  We are spiritual and believe in God, but not necessarily the Christian doctrine.

That said, after reading some excerpts and reviews, I ordered both books for us.  I have found FWO to be insightful and the quick peek I took and FMO seemed dead on.

Now how do I get him to read it?  I'm afraid the Christian slant will be a turn-off for him and he will either stop reading (he hasn't even started yet) or discount the information.  Any suggestions?

Well, tell him how much this means to you. You know him better than we do, so you would know if he would chose to not read or chose to read. If he doesn't want to read, it is his choice.

On the Christian note, I encourage you to think about the scripture quoted in the FWO/FMO books. I understand that you say you believe in God, but do not consider yourself or your husband Christians. I was in that exact same spot a while ago. I just encourage you to take a deeper look at who God is.

Does this help?

My husband and I are not religious at all. I have read both FWO and FMO, and my husband is currently reading FMO. Despite not being any certain religion, I enjoyed reading both books and found them to be very helpful. My husband, so far, has found FMO to be very helpful. However, at the first mention of God he did ask me if "this was a highly religious type book" and "if there were references to Christianity often" I told him that even though it was a religious based book, I would still like for him to continue reading it. Regardless of someones religious standing, we are all human beings, and we all have, for the most part, the same wiring and feelings (just as stated in these wonderful books!). I told my husband that the books were also based on fact, and that I felt they would benefit our marriage. He understood, and now is almost done with FMO. He has enjoyed the book thus far, and has not complained about the mention of God since that first time.

Talk with your husband, let him know that the book will have some religious references.
Also let him know that it is important to you that he read the book. I'm sure he will understand,
and in the end be grateful that you asked him to read it!
